Janette Brown, 89, of Warren, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was born on December 13, 1936, in Townhill, Scotland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnus (Ramsey) Walls.
Janette graduated in Scotland in 1952 and, after coming to the United States, continued her education by attending college, where she developed her strong financial knowledge and skills. She worked for Baker’s Cleaners for many years and was an accomplished bowler. Janette proudly held the title of State Champion for six consecutive years.
Janette will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ronald J. Brown and his wife, Alyce, of New Baden, Ill.; Lanette Currier of Dulton, Va.; and Scott Brown and his wife, Deborah, of Waynesboro, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Jason Brown, Christopher Brown, Stacey Laur, Timothy O’Mailey, Brandy Agee, Jeremy Brown, Colton Brown, and Anthony Brown; sixteen great-grandchildren, Alex Brown, Audrey Brown, Andrew Brown, Aurora Brown, Julianna Brown, Jameson Brown, Chelsea Brown, Stephanie O’Mailey, Owen O’Mailey, Ananiesa Sullivan, Connor Brantly, Kane Agee, Kaitlyn Brown, Kierra Brown, Colby Brown, and Lila Brown; one great-great-grandchild, Iris Sullivan: and her sister, Pamela Crowley of Reading, England.
In addition to her parents, Janette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle “Tony” Brown, whom she married on December 19, 1951; her sister, Alison Hewlett; and her son-in-law, Russell Currier.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Janette on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Warren American Legion Post #135, 412 Pennsylvania Ave. West, Warren, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren, PA.
