Janet Louise Thompson, 69, of Butternut Court, Warren, PA, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

Janet was born April 26, 1943, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Hazel Carlson Jordan.   Janet was a graduate of Warren High School.  She was employed by the Warren State Hospital and also at the Blair Corporation.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling and crafts.

She is survived by 8 children, Donald W. Thompson, III, and wife, Suzanne, State College, Pa., Sharon Whittenburg, and husband, John, Ft. Smith, AR, Cindy Thompson, Tulane, CA, Kathy Thompson, also of Ft. Smith, AR, John Thompson, MN, Marc Thompson, Warren, Pa., and Kris Thomas, and husband, Rusty, also of Warren, PA; 1 sister, Jean Williams, and husband Len, Warren, Pa.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on January 15, 2010, by her husband, Donald W Thompson, Jr.

Friends will be received at the Starbrick Fire Hall, 5 Fireman Street, Warren, Pa., on Saturday, September 1 for a Celebration of Janet's life from 2 to 5 p.m.
