Janet L. Peterson, 81, formerly of Jackson Avenue, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Warren Manor.  Janet was born September 23, 1935, in Freemont, NE. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Montgomery) Lewis.

Janet was a graduate of Lankenau Girls High School in1954.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thiel College in 1958.  She worked at the Warren General Hospital and served as the data processing supervisor for many years.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she and her husband ran the youth group and sang in the choir. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Cooper of Warren, PA; and three sons, Dave Peterson, of Missoula, MT, Jamie Peterson, and wife, PJ, of Pensacola, FL, and Rick Peterson, and wife, Susan, of Murphy, NC; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on October 28, 1979, by her husband, L. Mel Peterson, whom she married September 7, 1967; and her great-grandson, Davion Lane.

Friends will be received at First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, PA, on Wednesday, March 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a memorial service will be held there,

with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.
