Obituary

Jane A. (McConnell) Kitelinger passed away on Saturday night, March 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 95, at the Kane Lutheran Home. Jane was born in Warren, PA on September 17, 1922 to the late Arthur and Adeline (Spohn) McConnell. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1940. Jane married Marshall G. Kitelinger in March 1942 in Wellsboro, W. Virginia. They resided in Warren, where they owned and operated Kitelinger Excavating together. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church. She was employed by W.T. Grants, New Process Company and was a press-operator at GTE Sylvania, where she retired from. Over the years, she did countless hours of volunteering at the Rouse Home in numerous ways with her sister, Bertie. The two of them were affectionately known during the Rouse family picnics as the "Rouse Soda Jerks." She is survived by her son, James L. Kitelinger, four grandchildren: Tammy Tutmaher; Kelly Schwanke and husband John; Jimmy Kitelinger; and Tracey Caldwell and husband Mickey; great-grandchildren: Dylan, C.J. and Hayley Tutmaher, Emily and Garrett Bailey, step-great-grandchildren Wes and Austin Schwanke; sister-in-law Margaret "Peggy" McConnell; one special niece Andrea Grolemund and her husband Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Marsh in September 1966; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kitelinger; five brothers: Joseph McConnell, Melvin "Punk" McConnell, Delbert "Pete" McConnell, Leo McConnell and Charles "Lindy" McConnell and two sisters: Adeline McKelvey and Bertha "Bertie" Glotz. Jane enjoyed the time at their cottage on the Chautauqua Lake with family and friends. She took a trip to Florida, where they resided for a brief time, and a trip to California by herself to visit her son and daughter-in-law while he was in the Navy. She enjoyed shopping with her sister, trips to the casino, car trips to get ice cream but most of all, spending time with her family. She loved cats, adopting many that visited her family home. She had a big heart and will be remembered fondly. Jane's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the loving and caring staff at the Kane Lutheran Home, who became her second family. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc. m, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA. 16365 on Wednesday, March 14, from 6 to 8 pm., and at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, on Thursday, March 15, from 9 am until 10:00 am, at which time a Mass Of Christian Burial Will be held, with Father Jim Gutting, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of Warren County,One Main Ave., Warren, PA 16365, Shriners Hospital of Erie, 1645 W.
