James Robert "Bert" Johnson, 59, of Pleasant Township, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home.  James was born March 24, 1957, in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Robert L. and M. Joyce (Simpson) Johnson.

James was a 1975 graduate of Warren High School.  He worked at the Blair Corporation until 2005.  Thereafter, he continued to work in various capacities throughout the area including several years at Chapman Dam as a Park Ranger, which he truly enjoyed; and most recently at the Warren State Hospital as a water treatment specialist.

James was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Pleasant Township.  He loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed doing things with his grandchildren.  He also assisted with the Boy Scout program while his children were participants, and enjoyed riding motorcycles with his lifelong friend, Scott Anderson and his wife, Donna.

He is survived by three children, Carl R. Johnson, Samuel L. Johnson and fiancée, Amelia Thompson, and Joyce M. Johnson, and husband, Daniel Clever, all of Warren; one sister, Constance Johnson, and wife, Suellyn Stewart, of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Edwin Johnson, Colton Clever, Austin Clever, Angel Clever, Kaylynn Johnson and Bailee Johnson; two nieces, Heidi Sanders, and husband, Steve, and Bobbi Edstrom, and partner, Sean Greenway; and nephew, Shawn Gebhardt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on November 17, 2011, by his wife of 31 years, Sharon Marie Johnson; and May 27, 2015, by his sister, Susen R. Gebhardt.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, March 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.  A memorial service will be held there at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 9, with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
