James M. Pierson, 62, of Sheffield, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Kinzua Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Warren. Jim was born June 1, 1955, in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Harry and Arlene (Hanson) Pierson. Jim was a 1973 graduate of Sheffield High School. In 1979, he joined the Sheffield Fire Department/Ambulance Service, where he served as a secondary dispatcher. He also served as a Trustee and Committee Member of the Department. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Jim will always be remembered for his sense of humor and optimism. He will be missed by his many friends, cousins, and fire department family who survive him. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his infant brother, Harry L. Pierson, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Harry and Gertrude Hanson; and paternal grandparents, John & Edna Pierson. Friends will be received at the Sheffield Fire Hall, 318 S. Main St., Sheffield, on Wednesday, December 13, for one hour prior to a service to be held there at 11 am, with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery.
