Obituary

James "Jim" Robert Moore, 89, of Warren, PA, passed away on February 8, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1936, in Rosewood, OH, to the late Lawrence and Alma Moore. Jim moved from Ohio to a dairy farm in Scandia his junior year with his six siblings. He balanced the chores of milking cows in the early hours along with his high school demands so that he could enjoy many trips to the Russell Roller Rink, where he met the love of his life, Beverly. Jim married Beverly Lindsey on November 22, 1957, shortly before joining the United States Army to serve his country. On his return, he began his 38-year career as a Development Machinist at Sylvania.

He was a man of many talents – always ready with a toolbox in hand to fix anything around the house  –   and was the "go-to guy" for family and friends in need. He was a life-long member of the First Lutheran Church, a church usher, and a member of Pine Grove Gun Club for many years. Jim's lifelong love of the outdoors led to elk hunting in Colorado, fishing in remote Canada and Alaska, and hunting all of the game that Pennsylvania offers.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Warren and Steve. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his sisters Martha Jane Colvin, Barb (Terry) Park, Judy Haskins, and his brother David.

Jim was a devoted husband to Beverly and a loving father to his three children, Todd (Kim) Moore, Cheryl Love, and Brian (Carla) Moore. He was deeply cherished by his six grandchildren – Emily (Eric) Lee, Carrie (Moore) Page, Michael (Madyson) Love, Heather (Eric) Bailey, Andrew (Kimberly) Moore, and Derek (Caryn) Moore, as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will take place at First Lutheran Church, 109 W 3rd Ave, Warren, PA, 16365, on Saturday, February 21, from 10-11AM, with a funeral to follow at 11AM, Rev. Jeff Ewing officiating.

A private interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the First Lutheran Church's Elevator Fund or Music Ministry, Warren Cancer Center, or a charity of your choice.
