James “Jim” Robert Johnson, 79, of Russell passed away surrounded by family on July 6, 2026.

Jim graduated from Warren Area High School in 1964, and from the University of Wisconsin in 1968. He taught high school for several years back in the day, then he returned to Warren to work in the family real estate business. At that time, the business was Robert S. Johnson Agency, started in 1946. The Johnson Agency became Johnson Realty and Appraisal Co. an appraisal shop and continues presently under the aegis of Craig S. Johnson, son.

Libertarian by nature, spiritual according to the obvious, a traveler, a reader with an excellent library, and a lifelong collector.

Jim is survived by his wife Jolene, by his sons Craig S. Johnson (Jessica), Dr. Raymond J. Johnson (Marisa), and his stepson Andrew Skerda (Stephanie), and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Jane Hively (Bobby), Rochester, MI, and his aunt Marcia Sartwell, Bethesda, MD.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth P. Johnson and Robert S. Johnson.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Pennsylvania Ave E. Warren, PA 16365. There will be no public services for Jim.

Jim will be cremated, and his ashes will be combined with those of his wife Jolene at the appropriate future time.
