Obituary

Jack E. Grimes, 71, passed away at home June 9, 2019 after a long-fought battle with cancer, surround by family. Born March 8, 1948 in Lawrenceville, W.V. he was the son of Katherine (McGaffick) Grimes and the late John Grimes. Jack, a man of many trades, spend most of his life caring for others including his late wife of 37. Preceding him in death his late wife W. Jean (Jackson) Grimes; whom he married June 27, 1981, father John Grimes, and sibilings Julie (Grimes) Hawkingberry and John Wesley Grimes. Jack is survived by two children: Catherine (Brandon) Grimes-Haldiman of Sheffield, P.A. and Jackson (Andrea) McKee of Austintown, OH; five grandchildren: Brandon, Brianna, Colin, Olivia, and Evan; three grandcats: Ezio, Nikita, and Charlie; five sisters: Genesta (Mark) Dimaggio, Shelley Kay (Curt) Moffett, Shawnee (Ed) Coleman, Sherri, and Susan (Rich) Poliey; Mother Katherine (McGaffick) Grimes, and several nieces and newphews. He was a member of the Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216 Mens Auxillary and the VFW, and enjoyed Native American culture, baking, holidays, and spending time with his family. There will be a memorial service for Jack at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 22nd at Crossroads Church, 554 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown OH, 44511 with Pastor Dave Watkins officiating.
