Jack L. Elder, 85, of Warren, passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center of Erie, PA. Jack was born May 15, 1931 in Sheffield, PA, the son of the late Harold F. and Ruth (Anderson) Elder. A lifelong area resident, Jack was a 1949 graduate of the Sheffield High School. He was employed for forty two years at the Blair Corporation as a Returns Supervisor, from which he retired. He was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church of Warren, where he was an usher, and a member of the Property Committee. In 2001, he received the Profile in Faith Award from the Church. Jack was also a member of the North Star Lodge #241, the Shriner's, the Farrah Grotto, and the Moose Lodge # 109. Jack will be remembered for his gift of conversation, his kindness, and being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Madolyn J.(Amsler) Elder, whom he married in Warren on June 20, 1953; two sons, Tim Elder and his wife Laura, of Canfield, OH, and Tom Elder and his wife Cindy of Warren, PA; a granddaughter Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by an infant son, Rickie Lee Elder. Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren on Wednesday, March 22 from 5 - 8 pm, and at the First Lutheran Church on Thursday March 23, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 am, with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating. Members of the North Star Lodge, #241, Free and Accepted Masons, will conduct a service at 7:45 pm on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505, the First Lutheran ChurchOrgan Fund, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, PA 16365, or North Star Lodge #241
