J. Richard Pratt, 85, of 156 Snyder Memorial Road, Marienville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Snyder Memorial Home. Richard was born July 12, 1926, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Lloyd and Anna Hayes Pratt. Richard worked as a research assistant at the Warren State Hospital, from which he retired.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warren, Pa., where he donated, and also played the organ.  Music was his passion, and he enjoyed all types of music. He collected music scores from ancient times and assisted music libraries in their translation. He is survived by his niece, Elizabeth Berry and her husband, Brett, Eldred, Pa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton L. Pratt; and nephew, Clinton H. Pratt. A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Drive, Warren, Pa., on Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Michael Poindexter, Pastor, officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Warren Library Association, 205 Market St., Warren, PA 16365. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, Pa. The Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.
