Obituary

Homer Eugene Repine, 87, of Weldbank, PA, died on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Rouse Home, following a lengthy illness.

Gene was born July 8, 1927, in Dayton, PA, the son of the late Homer H. and Callie N. Lydick Repine. A longtime area resident, Gene served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He later owned the White Lunch in Sheffield, and Morrell's Tavern in Warren.  Gene was a self employed mason, but also a member of the Brick Layers and Allied Craftsman Union. One of his last large jobs was the construction of the FCI McKean Federal Penitentiary, retiring soon after.  He was a lifetime member of the Sheffield VFW, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and the AMVETS.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and especially fishing.

Gene is survived by eight children, Linda  Repine, Sheffield, Judith Papalia, Warren, Jeanne Lorenz (Dave), N. Warren, Vicky Pomarico (Marc), Loudonvile, OH, Dan Repine (Kamie) , Clarendon, Leesa Castanzo (Frank), Clarendon, Kenneth Repine (Kimberly), Chuckey, TN, and Robert Wilson, Hendersonville, NC; three brothers, Wilbur Repine, Sugar Grove, Frank Repine (Mary Lou), Sugar Grove, and James Repine, Warren; one sister, Diane Dalrymple (Bernie), Dewittville, NY;  twenty eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Marie McManigle Repine in 1973; two brothers, Lyle Repine and Clair Repine; and a sister, Sarah Peterson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, PA., on Tuesday, October 28, from 3-5 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain, Rouse Warren County Home, and Warren General Hospital, officiating.

Burial will be in the Sheffield Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warren County Humane Society, 212 Elm St., Warren, PA. 16365, or to the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA. 16365.
