Hilda K. Miller, 93, formerly of Oneida Ave. passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Warren Manor.
Hilda was born July 8, 1918, in Benton, Pa., the daughter of the late George and Rita Cole Kile. She was a graduate of Benton High School and also a graduate of Bloomsburg Nursing School. Hilda enlisted in the United States Navy as an ensign nurse, and later worked as a pediatric nurse. She was a very active member of the First Methodist Church, involved in the Allen Class, the United Methodist Women, and as Sunday School Superintendant with her husband. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star, the PTA, and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She will always be remembered as a kind woman who cared about everyone.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Miller and his wife Diane, Warren, Pa., and Timothy Miller and his wife Nancy, Lakewood, Ohio; a brother, Frank Kile, Bloomsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Daniyar Miller, serving in the US Marine Corps and Tanya Miller, currently at Tri-C College, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on March 2002, by her husband Elbert H. Miller, whom she married on September 21, 1942; a sister, Flora Hoyt and a brother, Dale Kile.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn. Ave., E., Warren, on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from, 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Sterling, pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Manor Patient Fund, 682 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA 16365.
