Herman R. (Bud) Ristau, Jr.
Bud Ristau, 73, of 7 Conewango Place, Warren, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born in Warren Pa. on April 17, 1943 he was the son of the late Herman R. (Bush) Ristau Sr. and Ruth E. Peterson Ristau. He graduated from Sheffield Area High School in 1961 and married the love of his life, Linda H. Farnsworth Ristau, on April 10 1964.
Bud was employed by Struthers Wells Corp for 27 years in their Quality Assurance Department before their closing, then by United Refining Quality Department, and retired from Ellwood National Forge Quality Department as Director of Quality Assurance in April 2011.
He was a member of the Sheffield Fire Department in the 60's and 70's and served as Third Assistant Chief. He was president of the Sheffield PTA and coached Little League for both his son and oldest grandson over the years.
Bud enjoyed fishing and hunting especially with his grandsons, camping with his wife and children and vacationing at Virginia Beach with his family. He enjoyed the many dogs he had during his life-time, including his grand-dog, Zac. Bud enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends and tried to meet at least one new person a month. Everyone who knew him saw his kindness and generosity. He was always a gentleman and was known for his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, April D. Ristau, and husband, Thomas H. (Tom) Hoover, of Richmond, VA; son, Chad R. Ristau, and his companion, Michele Tremblay, of Warren; grandsons, Conner Ristau and Haiden Ristau, of Warren; sister, Judith (Judy) and husband, Rich Rawson, of Warren; brother, Stuart Kornreich, and wife, Gorgene, of Warren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Ristau.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave E., Warren, on Thursday, September 29, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held there with Rev. Rick Rohlin, pastor, Praise! Fellowship, officating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365 or the Cancer Care Center, 2 Crescent Park W., Warren, PA 16365.
