Herbert L. Wagner, 79, of Warren, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his residence. Herb was born October 18, 1944, in Jersey Shore, PA, the son of the late John and Luva Wagner. He was a 1962 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He was employed as a machine mechanic for Osram Sylvania from which he retired in 2004. Herb was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of the First Church of God. He was an avid fisherman, a Pennsylvania State Fishing Champion many times, and spent a great deal of time teaching the young kids about fishing so the love of fishing and nature will live on. He also enjoyed hunting. He made some great friends through the years and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Herb is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Lauffenberger Wagner, whom he married on May 31, 1975; three children, Troy Wagner and wife Ann of Warren, Mattie Pollack and husband George of Erie, and Dawn Bines of Sugar Grove; brothers, Charlie Wagner and wife Sandy of Jersey Shore, PA, and Richard Wagner of Oklahoma; sister Sara Hennessy of Warren; sister-in-law Julie Reynolds; granddaughters: Meagan, Rachel and Samantha; grandsons: Tyler, Mackenzie, Jacob, Zachary and Paul. His great joy in later life were his great granddaughters: Blakelynn, Gracelynn, Alaina, Evelynn, Hazel, Madilyn, Hadlee, Ashlyn and Adalynn, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by daughter, Sally Engstrom; brothers, George, John and Harry Wagner; and sisters, Mary and Anna; and an infant brother, David. Friends will be received at First Church of God, 1111 Madison Ave., Warren, PA, on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00 am, at which time a service will be held there with Reverend Bill Hargenrader, pastor and friend, officiating.
