August 17, 1924 – October 2, 2015
Henry F. "Hank" Passinger, 91, formerly of Russell, PA, died at Warren Manor, surrounded by his family at 4:10 p.m. on October 2, 2015, and went to be with the Lord and be reunited with his wife, Mary, whom he missed dearly.
Henry was born in Warren, PA. on August 17, 1924 to the late Henry M. and Cora Arnold Passinger.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, of 51 years, Mary A. Polizzi Passinger, whom he married on June 7, 1946; his four sisters, Viola Maxwell, Hazel Danz, Lorraine Hice and Marvel Schlining; and his five brothers, Merle, Paul, Monroe, Lloyd and David Passinger.
Henry is survived by four sons, Dave and wife, Debbie (White) Passinger, Russell, PA., Jack and wife, Julie (Cummings) Passinger, also of Russell, PA, Bob and wife Mary (Eggleston) Passinger, Sugar Grove, PA, and Mitch and wife Pam (Peterson) Passinger, Russell, PA; 14 grandchildren, Jen (Steve) Kilburn, Christy (DeWayne) Moore, Stephanie (Josh) Russell, Jack (Gina) Passinger, Jody (Mike) Lindell, Jamie Passinger, Jeff (Becky Snow) Passinger, John Passinger, Andy (Erin) Passinger, Molly (Phil) Heubach, Megan Passinger, Stacy (Tyson) Martin, Jason (Christy) Passinger and Michael Passinger; 24 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Henry was a very giving, caring person who would help in any way that he could. He was extremely talented as a carpenter, electrician and plumber. Henry was a retired plumber (Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 47 of Northwest Pennsylvania). He was previously employed by PDM and Warren Webster Corp. of Warren. He served in the US Navy as a motor machinist Mate 2_C, with a tour of duty on the Tambar SS198 submarine (World War II). He was awarded four medals (Good Conduct, WWII Victory, American Campaign and Asiatic Pacific Campaign).
Henry was a member of Praise Fellowship Church. He enjoyed working on the construction of Praise Fellowship Church. Henry loved baseball and was very instrumental in developing Werner Park baseball field from day one. He was an excellent baseball coach and had a 6 year undefeated season. In addition to baseball, he loved running the hills with his 4-wheeler. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Monday, October 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and at Praise Fellowship Church, 7451 Market St, Russell, on Tuesday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service to be held there, with Rev. Rick Rohlin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Praise Fellowship Church, or Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA 16365.
