Helen L. Gerarde, 92, formerly of San Antonio, TX, and Saybrook, PA, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Kinzua Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.  Helen was born December 23, 1924, in Saybrook, PA. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mae (Young) Heeter.

Helen was a graduate of Sheffield High School.  During her husband's military career, she traveled and lived in many places, including Japan and Turkey.  Upon his retirement, they were the owner of 3 stores in the San Antonio area.

She is survived by one brother, Marvin Heeter, and his wife, Barbara, of Sheffield, PA; daughter-in-law, Tessa Gerarde, of TX; granddaughter, Heather Gerarde, also of TX; and three nephews, Larry, Lonnie and Lee Heeter.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Gerarde, in 1974; her son, James Gerarde; and brother, Alfred Heeter.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, July 28, for one hour prior to a service to be held there at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Beatty, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
