Helen Maxine Clark was born in Grand Valley PA on April 6,1923 to the late Bert and LeEll Mays Chappel, the oldest and last surviving of eleven children. She lived briefly in Florida and in Warren County for the rest of her life. She died on April 7,2021 at the age of 98. She attended the two-room school in Grand Valley through eighth grade. She graduated from Youngsville High School. She worked at the former New Process Company for many years. Upon her retirement she enjoyed several trips to New York City, New Orleans, Hawaii, and Canada. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three children: Karen (KC) Kephart, her twin, Karl, and another son, Ross. She is survived by a daughter, Sherry (Herb) Johnson, a son, Norris Clark, a son-in-law, Stephen Kephart, three grandchildren: Scott Pickering, Emily Kephart Laird, and Rachel Kephart, as well as seven great grandchildren: Megan Upchurch, Daisy Pickering, Hannah Pickering, Galexy Laird, River Laird, Orion Laird, and Spencer Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to Paws Along the River or Grace United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
