Harold L. Wilkins, an 89-year-old resident of Russell, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Born on July 5, 1937, in Warren, Harold spent his entire life as a lifelong resident of Russell. He was the son of the late Lewis Skinner and Florence (VanSile) Wilkins. Harold graduated from Warren High School. During the Korean War, Harold served active duty in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. He started as a rural carrier out of Russell and later became a Postmaster in the Sugar Grove office, where he retired.
Harold was an active member of several organizations. He attended Praise Fellowship and was a longtime member of the Frewsburg Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He also played in a Bluegrass Band with his family and grandchildren. Harold enjoyed various outdoor activities, including camping, hunting, and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Harold is survived by his wife, Carole H. (Gray) Wilkins, whom he married on October 27, 1956. He has two children: Steve (Kim) Wilkins of Scandia, Cheryl (Ralph) Ann Clark of Warren. Harold also has four brothers: Bill Wilkins and Tom (Sharon) Wilkins, and two sisters: Norma Anderson and Dolly Younberg. He has four grandchildren: Trever Wilkins, Matt Wilkins, Daniel Wilkins, and Ryan Betts, and five great-grandchildren: Rebekah, Luc, Gabriel, Gracie, Anthony, Liam, Phinn, Lincoln, Ryan Nicole. Harold also has numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Marjory Phinney, and his brothers, James Wilkins, Ronald Wilkins, and Hank Wilkins.
Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Friends are cordially invited to join us at Praise Fellowship, located at 7451 Market St., Russell, PA, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at which time, AJ Maze, the former pastor, will officiate the funeral service. Following the service, a burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard.
