Mallery

Mrs. H. Luella Mallery, resident of the Rouse Home for several years, passed away at age 101.
Mrs. Mallery was born July 29, 1914, at home in Hartstown, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Pearl McCurdy and by her step-father, Warren Shearer; by her husband, John Mallery, Jr.; a sister, Lois Baker; a half-brother, Thomas Shearer; and a grandson, John N. Mallery.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Neuroth of Greensboro, NC; a son, Robert Mallery (Cathleen) of Mount Lebanon, PA; eight grandchildren, and ten greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Mallery was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Eastern Star in Warren.
She was a graduate of Slippery Rock College, majoring in Physical Education. She taught and occasionally substituted in Mercer and Warren County schools.
In October, 1968, Mr. & Mrs. Mallery accepted an assignment under the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries at Howard Memorial Secondary School in Shenge, Sierra Leone, West Africa. In 1972, they served in the same capacity in Jalingo, Nigeria, until August, 1974.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Monday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian, former associate pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Warren, officiating.
Interment will be in Wrightsville Cemetery.
