Gertrude L. Maines, 93, formerly of Clarendon, died Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Rouse Home.  Gertrude was born May 29, 1922, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Floyd and Marie Ettinger Crocker.

Gertrude was a graduate of Warren High School.  She worked at Bell Telephone Company for a short time before working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Warren State Hospital for twenty eight years, from which she retired in 1986.  She was the past president of the Clarendon VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the Clarendon United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed her family, especially grandchildren.  She also loved bowling and watching baseball and football.  She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Joe Montana.

She is surivived by two sons, Mark A. Maines, and wife, Lori, of Sheffield, and Michael P. Maines, of Moon Township;  four grandchildren, Collin Maines, Rachel Maines, Samantha Pollock and Annie Maines; two sisters-in-law, Luella Chase and Carol Crocker; one brother-in-law, Rudy Hale; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, in 2008, Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip D. Maines, whom she married September 25, 1942; and siblings, Margaret "Sis" Dickerson and Floyd "Buzz" Crocker; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hale and Ruth Maines; and three brothers-in-law, Ted Dickerson, Leroy Hammerbeck and Bob Chase.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Erica Wellner, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
