George William Darr, 65, of Weldbank, PA, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, PA.
William, as he was lovingly known by those who knew him, was born September 2, 1946, in Clearfield, PA, the son of the late Burney Darr, Sr. and Evon Wolfe Darr. He was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School and was employed by Hyma Devore Lumber Mill, Inc., from which he retired in 2008. William loved being outside and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two sons, George William Darr, III, Weldbank, PA and Justin Darr and his fiancée, Rena Clemete, Warren, PA; two sisters, Barb Darr and Evon Darr, also of Weldbank, PA; three brothers, Burney Darr, Jr., Weldbank, PA, Buster Darr, and his wife, Amy, Warren, PA, and Walter Darr, and his wife, Carol, Weldbank, PA; two grandchildren, Angelina and Rosealie; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Lucas.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Tuesday, April 10, from, 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. John W. Mechtly, former pastor, Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery.
