Obituary

George E. Belin, 93, of Warren, and formerly of Russell, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his residence. George was born June 1, 1931, in Smoke Run, PA, the son of the late George F. and Ruby (Richardson) Belin. George lived most of his life in Russell, PA. George was a proud veteran enlisting in the U.S. Army from 1949-1952, serving thirteen months in Korea as a Corporal with the 1st Cavalry Division. He earned the Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, ROK Presidential Citation, Ambassador of Peace Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. George was a Supervisor at Blair Corporation in the Maintenance Department for 23 years, from which he retired in 1994. George was a member of the Russell United Methodist Church. He was active in the community serving on several boards, the original Pine Grove Twp water authority, Russell Fire Department, the Board of Directors Former Warren Senior Center, and was the past President of the Pine Grove Twp Lions Club. He was also a 50 year plus member of the North Star Lodge #241, F. & A.M. Masons, a 50 year plus member of the 32nd Degree Masons of Coudersport Consistory, American Legion Post #135, Warren Eagles Club, and Farrah Grotto. George was instrumental in obtaining a Pavilion, two dugouts, and playground equipment at Larimer Park. He also helped in getting the Veterans Honor Roll at the Pine Grove Cemetery. George enjoyed working around his home, especially in his work shop. He also enjoyed watching the birds and camping. George especially loved being a father, grandfather and great grandfather. George is survived by his two children, George R. Belin and wife Tammy of Russell, and Evelyn Brown of Warren; brother, John Belin and companion Carol of Phillipsburg, PA; sister, Carol Twigg of Smoke Run, PA; grandchildren, Donald Brown, Doug (Kayla) Brown, Traci (Dan) Gregory, and Jenneifer (Kurt Upton) Dell; and four great grandchildren, Dominic Dell, Konstanze Dell, Katie Upton, and Raegan Brown; daughter-in-law, Donna Bielawski; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death on June 12, 2005, by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor Stiles Belin, whom he married on June 7, 1952; brother, James "Jim" Belin; longtime companion, Pat Orcutt; son-in-law, Daniel Brown; and brother-in-law, Arthur Twigg. Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A North Star Masonic Lodge Service will be at 3:45pm prior to visitation on Sunday. A funeral service will be held at the Russell United Methodist Church, 17 N. Main St., Russell, PA, on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00am with Rev. Bay Allen, pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Russell Fire Department, 111 Perrigo Ln., Russell, PA, or to the Grotto Dental Care for Children's with Special Needs, www.hfgrotto.org. Burial will be private at the Pine Grove Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Youngsville Honor Guard.
