Frederick R. Wright, 73, of Erie, PA, and formerly of Russell, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at home in Erie.  Fred was born December 11, 1940, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Kenneth M., Sr. and Beulah L. (Egger) Wright.

Fred had lived in the Russell area for over 30 years, and was employed at Pitt-Des Moines before getting into a serious car accident that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.  He was an avid bird watcher and loved watching movies.  Fred had a great interest in astronomy and had many telescopes.  He will always be remembered for designing and supervising the installation of beautiful flower gardens.

He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Ann Burdick, and husband, Brian, of Russell, PA; two sisters, Linda K. Grubbs, of TN, and Barbara Bonavita, of Warren, PA; two brothers, Kenneth Wright, Jr., of Warren, PA, and Gary L. Wright, and wife, Nellie, of Fairview, PA; two grandchildren, Sarah Heller, and husband, Robert, of Russell, PA and Aaron Burdick, and wife, Salysa, of Warren, PA; one great-grandchild, Ryan Heller; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Wright, and Ronald Kemery.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA Tuesday, June 10, from 2 to 5 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Warren General Hospital and Rouse Home, officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.
