Frederick A. Rulander Jr., 97, of Youngsville, PA, and formerly of North Warren, passed away August 27, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. Fred was born June 19, 1927, in Pittsfield, PA, the son of the late Frederick Rulander and Bessie Chambers Rulander. He was employed for 37 years at Blair Corporation as a Production Manager in the mailing department for many years from which he retired in 1989. Fred enjoyed wintering in Florida, camping, square dancing, snowmobiling, and was involved along with his wife, Lovena, at the North Warren Fire Department's Women's Auxiliary for several years. Family was very important to Fred, and he and Lovena traveled frequently to visit children and grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife, Lovena DeVore Rulander, whom he married in 1951; two children, Sheila Slaughter and husband Ross of Mount Vernon, OH, and Frederick A. Rulander III and wife Kristine of League City, TX; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Lester Rulander of Youngsville, PA; and sister-in-law, Jerri Rulander of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by siblings, Herbert, Curtis, and Howard Rulander, Marie Johnson, Lettie Anderson, Velma Rulander, and Violet Thomas. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, at which time a funeral service will be held with Reverend Ross Slaughter, son-in-law, officiating.
