Franklin Delano "Butch"
Ristau
April 11, 1936 – April 12, 2016
Franklin Delano "Butch" Ristau, 80, of Warren, PA, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Warren General Hospital. Frank was born April 11, 1936, in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Charles and Pauline (Dase) Ristau.
Frank was a graduate of Warren High School, class of 1954. He served in the US Army as a Military Policeman, stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He retired from the National Forge after thirty four years.
In his early years, he was active in sports—softball, golf and bowling. He was a coach for his sons in little league, and was an umpire for the men's softball league. He loved country music and enjoyed playing the slots. He was a fan of the Steelers and the Pirates. He loved his grandchildren so much—watching them play and listening to all the stories they told him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna (Cable) Ristau; one daughter, Kim Marsh, and husband, Kevin; three sons, Chris Ristau, and wife, Stacie, Craig Ristau, and wife, Nancy, and Shawn Ristau, and wife, Shelly; his daughter-in-law, Shelle Tubbs, and husband, Rodger; grandchildren, Seth (Erin) Reese, Rachael (Chris) Pirschel, Jessica (Mike) Flickner, Meghan Tubbs, Miranda, Garrett, Jacob, Lindsey, Matthew, Blake, Addison and Cory Ristau; and great-grandchildren, Ian Pirschel, Wesley and Aubrey Flickner, and Archer Reese; his brother, Richard Ristau, and sister, Esther Wonderling. He is also survived by his close nephew, Burdett (Nancy) Ristau, and their children, Tammy, Todd and Wendy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry F. Ristau, in 1989; and his sisters, Lucy VanOrd, Lauretta Winger, Betty Jane Jones, and Violet Lawson; and his brothers, Kenneth Ristau, David Ristau, James Ristau, Charles Ristau, and Gilbert Ristau.
Friends will be received at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren, on Friday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., and again there on Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
