Francis L. Holmes, 82, of Russell, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Fran was born on June 1, 1941, in Bradford, PA. He was employed by the City of Warren Fire Department for over 20 years from which he retired in 1986. Fran earned a Literature and Writing Degree, and he was a passionate and avid fisherman and story- teller extraordinaire. First and foremost, Fran was a dedicated and devoted family man and taught them to carry on that legacy of strength and optimism. Fran is survived by two daughters, Treena Holmes and Erin Holmes, both of Warren; grandchildren, Alana Holmes, Aiden Holmes, and Aldon Hulings; and his former wife and friend, Pamela Holmes.
