Frances P. Decker, 93, of Warren, PA passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Rouse Home in Youngsville. Mrs. Decker was born October 19, 1921 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Christian and Hulda (Swanson) Petersen. Frances was a 1939 graduate of Warren High School, she then attended Hoff"s Business College. She served in the US Navy as a typist for two years, then went on to be a typist for Struther's Well Company. After she married, she was a homemaker and loved to bake, she was especially known for her famous cookies. Frances was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Lutheran Church Women, and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage, and eager to share it. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Decker Dawn of Salisbury, MD, Douglas Decker of Duluth, GA, Richard Decker and wife, Rhonda, of Warren, PA, and James Decker and wife Kathy, of Warren, PA; one sister, Margaret Appell, of Galva, IL; eight grandchildren, Kristen, Eric; Nicholas, Adam, Alex, Alison, Leslie, and Dana; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death on January 23, 1991 by her husband, Charles Leslie Decker; and her sister, Anna Anderson. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna.Ave. E., Warren, PA 16365 on Sunday, September 27, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 28, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA, with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
