IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn
Dahler
August 8, 1923 – February 18, 2019
Evelyn M. Dahler, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of February 18, 2019 in Cleveland, OH. She was born in Kane, PA on August 8, 1923, daughter of Niels and Helga Gregersen. As a teenager, her family moved to Warren where she graduated from Warren Area High School. During the war, Evelyn worked in Buffalo at Bell Aircraft and did modeling for Bell's military publications. She later settled back in Warren to raise her family. She returned to the workforce in 1968 at Allegheny Valve Co. as an inside sales consultant where she worked until retirement in 1990. 'Evie' was a great American patriot and always loved the celebration festivities of the Warren Jaycees on the Fourth of July. She attended every 4th of July parade for over 60 years. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching all sports. She especially liked golf and her favorites, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. She avidly followed NASCAR and 'her guy', Jeff Gordon and attended her first of several Nascar races with her sons at age 84 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Evie absolutely loved Neil Diamond, attended several concerts over the years, her last being at his farewell 50th Anniversary Tour just days before she fell ill in 2017. She then moved to Generations Senior Living in Berea, Ohio where she spent quality time being close to her sons and family. 'Gram's entire immediate family attended her surprise 95th birthday party last August. A few weeks prior, she enjoyed an afternoon with her sisters June and Norma for their annual 'August birthday' celebration. Evelyn was a loving, generous and involved mother and grandmother who made friends easily with her humorous wit and kind words. She will be missed by all who knew her. Gram was a devoted mother of three sons, David, of Medina, OH, James, deceased (Mary) of Lakewood, OH and Mark (Kathleen) of Rocky River, OH. She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Pugh (James), Kristyn, David Jr. (Abbey), Bryan (Lia), Brett (Raquel), Greg, Lauren, Rachel and Ryan, and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters June Stangler and Norma Petersen, both of Warren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Robert and sister Violet. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E, Warren, PA 16365 on Sunday, February 24th from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the First Lutheran Church at 109 W 3rd Ave. in Warren on Monday, February 25th at 1:00 PM with The Rev. Jeff Ewing, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Warren Jaycees.
