Elvira M. Hernandez First, 73, of  648 Beech Street, Warren,  passed away following a extended  illness on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Elvira  was born August 10, 1941 in Cananova, Cuba. She is the daughter of the late Sarbelio and the late Elvira (Dominquez) Hernandez. She has been a longtime resident of Warren, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. As a tailor, Elvira was employed at the former Betty Lee Clothing Store, the former Levinson Brothers Department Store, and Carnahan' Clothing. She later started her own business, First Alterations, from which she retired. Elvira came to know many people through her career, her church, and her life. Elvira was a very spiritual lady and enjoyed her many friends at the church. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking, puzzles and books. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her family. Elvira is survived by her husband, Donald J. First, whom she married on November 5, 1966 in Hialeah, FL; a daughter, Evonne McKinley and her husband Scott, Swedesboro, NJ; a son, Donald V. First, Warren; two grandsons; Liam and Holden McKinley;  six sisters, Dora Tamplain, Nora Ruiz, Rita Legrặs, Clarita Rodriguez, Darci Henandez, and Maria "Isabelle" Quesada; three brothers, Sarbelio "Paco" Hernandez; Renẽ Hernandez, and Josẽ  "Berto" Hernandez; and  many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elvira was preceded in death her daughter Dawn First, on December 21, 2014. Friends will received at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Warren, PA. pm on Saturday, April 18, from 11am to 1 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held with The Rev.
