Elizabeth J. Evertsen, 95, Warren PA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 8th, at Cambridge assisted living. She was born May 6th, 1923 in Warren, PA. Betty was the daughter of Carl and Alfhild Munch. She was a long-time resident of Warren. Betty graduated from Warren High School and took a Stenographic course at Hoff Business College. Betty worked for Penndot before working for Warren State Hospital, where she retired after 27 years. She was a big fan of Johnny Cash and loved to go on road trips. Betty is survived by a stepson, Bob Evertsen and his wife Nancy, from Warren; Stepdaughter, Christa Tompkins and husband John from Bowie, TX; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 nieces; one nephew, and a very good friend of 55 years, Donna Williams and her husband Al. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Munch; sister in-law, Versil; step-son Larry Headland; nephew, Greg Munch; her first husband, Forest Weaver; her second husband, Irving Headlund, and her last husband, Arthur Evertsen. Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home from 6-8PM on Tuesday August 14th. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 15th of August 15th at Calvary Chapel, 8160 Market St, Russell, PA 16345 at 5:00 P.M. A meal will be made available after the service for anyone who wishes to attend. Memorials may be made to Calvary Chapel of Russell, PA or Church of God Warren, PA.
