Edwin Stapfer, 90, of Warren PA, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the home of his son, in Oak Grove, Minnesota Ed was born on September 27, 1929 in Warren, PA to the late Carl and Anna (Abplanalp) Stapfer. A lifelong Warren resident, he graduated from Warren High School, and then served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Blackstone Corporation in Jamestown, NY for 40 years and Ekey Florist on the south side Warren for 50 years. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ of Warren. Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and he also loved gardening. Ed is survived by his three children, Richard Stapfer and his wife Joni of Oak Grove, Minnesota, Randall Stapfer and his wife Dawn of Leavenworth, Kansas and Diane Cooper and husband Troy of Jacksonville, Florida; his brother, Lavern Stapfer and wife Lois Stapfer of Warren; his grandchildren, Rebecca Stapfer, Krista Stapfer, Tory Cooper, Hanna Cooper and James Stapfer; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Mattern Stapfer, and his brothers; Walter and Carl Stapfer. The family has requested memorial donations be made to a charity of choice A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
