Obituary

Edward Robert Barney, 44, of Pleasant Township, Warren, PA, died Friday, October 30, 2015, at his home surrounded by family. Ed was born November 17, 1970, in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Edward F. Barney and Rose Quiggle Barney of Warren. Edward was a lifelong area resident of Warren. He was a 1989 graduate of Warren High School, and was employed by Whirley Industries as a production assistant and a recycling coordinator. In previous years, Ed and his wife had enjoyed riding Harleys. He was a longtime member of the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church and more recently the Grace United Methodist Church; and was also a member of the Eagles Club, and a former longtime member of the Starbrick Fire Hall. Ed was an avid Steelers fan and loved the band, Kiss. He also enjoyed hunting with his friends, and especially with his daughter, Caitlin; taking his daughters to the beach, and camping at Red Oaks for the past two years. In addition to his mother, Ed is survived by his wife, Nikki Schmader Barney, whom he married August 28, 2004. He also leaves behind two daughters, Caitlin and Brooke, who live at home; his in-laws, James and Sherril Schmader, of Lottsville, and William and Debra Foreman, of Warren; two brothers, Tom Barney, and wife, Paula, of Glen Falls, NY and Rod Barney, and wife, Lori, of Columbiaville, MI; and one sister, Nancy Edmiston, and husband, Leon, of Sheffield; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maude and Gifford Quiggle; and paternal grandparents, Frank and Anna Barney. Friends will be received at the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Monday, November 2, 2015, from 4 to 7 pm. Friends will also be received there for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 3, with Rev. Rich Pearson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA.
