Edward H. Wise Allen, 93, of Canterbury Ct., Warren, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Rouse Home. Edward was born September 22, 1922, in Oil City, PA. He was the son of the late Alice J. (Nelson) Allen and was also raised by his step-father, Sennell "Doc" H. Allen. Edward served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a Longshoreman on Lake Erie, and worked for the Warren State Hospital and Sylvania. He also worked for the Forest Service for Older Americans. Edward was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed jogging until age 90. He is survived by three daughters, Gail A. Givens, of High Point, NC; Kathleen Y. Allen, and Robin L. Stimmell, and husband, Dan, of Warren, PA; two granddaughters, Tammy Givens, and Michele Francis; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on January 17, 2014, by his wife, Esther E. Allen; his infant son, Matthew D. Allen; and his grandson, Chuck Wheeler. Services will be private, and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.
