Douglas Charles Smith Jr., 87, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Cambridge Warren. Doug was born at home on June 9, 1935, in Tidoute, PA, the son of the late Douglas C. Smith Sr. and E. Lucille Morrison Smith. He was a 1953 graduate from Warren High School. He began work at Crossett as a diesel mechanic, moving through many positions throughout the years, eventually becoming Vice President of Operations, from which he retired in 2015. Doug was a hard worker, working 10-to-12-hour days. He attended the Grace United Methodist Church in Warren. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and great supporter of his children. Doug is survived by his children, Amy S. Bernhardt and husband Randy of Jamestown, NY, and Scott D. Smith of Pinehurst, N.C.; loving companion, Beverly Himes; grandchildren, Dustin Bernhardt and wife Brianna, Teresa Greenstein and husband Jonas, and Kristine Smith; and one great granddaughter, Harper Greenstein; and brother, James Smith. Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna Ave. E. Warren, PA, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00pm, at which time a funeral service will be held with the Reverend Bill Beaty, pastor Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
