Obituary

Dorothy Mae Robinault, 97, of Warren, PA, died suddenly Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at home. Dorothy was born November 13, 1925, to the late Winfred Milton McDonald and Maude Ethel Jewell in Union City, PA. She was the oldest of five siblings. She attended Academy High in Erie, PA, and worked at Pulakos Chocolates before moving to Warren in 1946 to work for her Aunt Sadie Jewell at her soda shop. There she met and married Glenn "Tink" Robinault in 1947. They went on to have 6 children. She was active in the community, serving as a girl scout leader, a treasurer in the Cootiettes, and in several roles at the Grace United Methodist Church. She was a wonder with a needle, working as a seamstress and later taking up the life of a quilter in 1979. She was a faithful member of the Quilter's Night Out Quilt Guild and was working on "her favorite" maple leaf quilt just this week. She loved to bake, especially a pie, and was known as the "pie master" by many. Dorothy chose to impart her wisdom through actions and looks more than words. Despite her quiet, serious exterior, she loved to laugh and tell and hear stories and did so every day, most recently wearing crazy socks, howling with the dog, and telling about the cow in the basement! She will be remembered fondly by her children- Murray Robinault and wife Donna, son-in-law Greg Morell, Marjorie Walker and husband Glenn, Cindy Hood and husband Chuck, and Regan Robinault and wife Nadine; 17 Grandchildren- Michael, Tammy, Heather, Katie, Will, Abel, Darrell, Mark, Colin, Joe, Josh, Eric, Heather, Kathy, Melanie, David, and Jerry; 29 Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as her sister Janneth McDonald, many nieces and nephews, her cousin Joann Jewell, her favorite- Lucas the dog, and all who ever met her! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in 1985, daughter Jennifer Morell, son Darrell Robinault, an infant daughter, and great granddaughter Alexis Robinault Sharkey. She was also preceded by siblings Ann McDonald, Harold Wells, and Robert Wells. Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Scott, officiating. Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park at a later date. The family suggests donations in memory of Dorothy be made to the Helping Hands Fund for Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA 16365 or L'Arche Erie Inc., 3745 W. 12th St, Erie, PA, 16505.
