Doris R. Barirde, 89, of North Warren passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Golden Living - Kinzua Valley.  Doris was born May 28, 1925, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late William and Rachel (Rieder) Stevenson.

Doris graduated from Warren High School, and then went to WCA Hospital School of Nursing in Jamestown NY.  She had worked as a registered nurse in Gowanda, NY, and Bellevue Hospital Center in NYC during World War II.   She ultimately retired from Warren State Hospital as a Psychiatric Nursing Instructor in 1963.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was involved in several groups throughout the years.  Doris enjoyed spending time outside and was an avid gardener.  She enjoyed sewing and was an avid animal lover; especially of birds, dogs and cats.

She is survived by one daughter, Julie A. Barirde, of Warren, PA; and one son, Charles P. Barirde, and his wife, Christine, also of Warren, PA; one sister; Mary Mahan, of Warren, PA; two grandchildren, Adam Barirde and Corey Barirde; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on October 12, 2000, by her husband of 39 years, Charles P. Barirde; and one brother, Robert Stevenson.

No calling hours will be observed.  A funeral will be held at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Monday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m.  The Rev. David Blank, senior pastor, and The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, associate pastor, will co-officiate.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
