Obituary

Donald C. Sheldon, 84, of Warren, PA passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Warren General Hospital.  Mr. Sheldon was born April 16, 1929, in Langhorne, PA, the son of the late Zello and Fannie Hoxie Sheldon.

Donald served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954, and spent time in England and Kansas.  He was employed by Sylvania as a maintenance mechanic for 35 years, from which he retired.   He enjoyed woodworking, golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ann Collins Sheldon, whom he married on January 9, 1954; three sons, Mr. Kevin Sheldon, of Rockport, TX, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Sheldon, Sheffield, PA and Mr. and Mrs. John Sheldon, Warren, PA; five grandchildren, David Sheldon, Rhiannon Sheldon, Alyssa Sheldon, Gwyn Oswalt and Nicole Gray; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carleton Dale Sheldon; two brothers, Ivan Sheldon and Lester Sheldon; and one sister, Olive Place.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren on Wednesday, January 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

A graveside service will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Cresent Street, Warren, PA 16365.
