Donald William Mohney passed away peacefully on Sunday December 31, 2023. He was born on April 5, 1937, in Harrison Township Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the son of Edna Stark Mohney and Walter Mohney. He lived in Kinzua, Pennsylvania between 1949 and 1962, with his Aunt Nellie and Uncle Edison (Bill) Mohney, relocating to Warren following the building of the Kinzua Dam. Don attended Warren High School and graduated from Greenbrier Military School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army between 1958 and 1960. He was a member of the First Church of God. He was an outstanding athlete excelling in both football and baseball and as a result was a member of the Warren County Hall of Fame. Additionally, Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping on the Allegheny Reservoir. He was employed by Osram Sylvania for 33 years, retiring in 1995. He is survived by one son Michael (Diedra), Asheville, NC, two daughters Karen Williams-Olson (Robert), Youngsville, PA and Marcia Korchak (Scott), Dubois, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Nathaniel Williams, Eric Williams, Abigail Korchak, Rachel Britton, and Chapin Mohney, and four great grandchildren, Claire Williams, Natalie Williams, Allison Williams, and River Britton. One brother, Lance (Mike) Mohney (Rochelle) and a sister- in- law, Janet Hart as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife Gayle Hart Mohney, on October 28, 2023, whom he married on December 27, 1958; one brother, Walter Mohney and three sisters, Lois Walters, Norma Bowser and Winifred Klaes.
