Donald A. Burgeson, 76, of Weldbank, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Warren General Hospital.
Donald was born September 8, 1938 in Warren, PA, the son of the late Arthur and Eva (Irwin) Burgeson. A lifelong area resident, Donald was a 1956 graduate of the Warren High School. He served in the US Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, and the Marksman Badge. Donald then worked for more than thirty years as a Psychiatric Aide at the Warren State Hospital, from which he retired. He then worked maintenance for Bett's Industries and the Warren County School District. He was a member of the Tiona United Methodist Church, the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, and the Warren County Fire Police.
Donald is survived by one daughter, Patricia Burgeson, Bradford, PA; three sons, Donald Burgeson Jr. and his wife Belinda, Kempner TX, Robert Burgeson and his wife Katrina, Clarendon, PA, and John Burgeson, Reading, PA; a sister, Norma Farnsworth, Clarendon, PA; a brother, Richard Burgeson and his wife Mae, Erie, PA; four grandchildren, Shane Burgeson, Kellie Eaton, Rebekah Rugg, and Kyle Covert; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Neve, and Bentley Rugg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on February 8, 2010 by his wife, Bonnie Troutman Burgeson, whom he married on July 9, 1959; and two infant sisters, Alice and Esther Burgeson.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave.E., Warren, PA, 16365, on Friday, March 6, from 5 - 8 pm. and for one hour prior to funeral service to be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, at the Tiona United Methodist Church, Six Mile Road, Tiona, with Rev. Martin Reynolds, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, 17 N. Main Street, Clarendon, PA 16313, the Tiona United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 257, Tiona, PA 16352, or to the Warren County Fire Police, P.O. Box 7, Clarendon, PA, 16313
