Dennis Keith
Patterson
October 17, 2015
Dennis Keith Patterson, age 79, Warren, PA and formerly of Youngsville, PA was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2015.
Dennis was born September 28, 1936 in Homer City, PA to the late Clair & Dorothy (Hilliard) Patterson. He graduated from Homer City High School in June 1954 and proudly served in the United States Air Force as Airman 1st Class from June 1954 – December 1957. He then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating in January of 1963 with a bachelor's degree in business. He later relocated to Warren, PA enjoying many years teaching business and typing classes at both Warren & Eisenhower High Schools. He retired from Warren County School District in June of 1998 to enjoy time outside and with his family.
In addition to his parents, Dennis will be welcomed at the gates of heaven by a sister, Carol Patterson. Surviving are his children – Denise (Matt) Engelbert, Bend, OR, Dana Patterson, Warren, Lisa Mechling, Tidioute, PA, Amy Patterson, Export, PA, Heather Keverline, Lenoir, NC and treasured step-children Holly and Zachery Armstrong of Warren. Dennis also leaves behind a beloved grandson – David Engelbert, Bend, OR.
He greatly treasured the outdoors from the time he was a young boy, and will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, sense of humor and kindness. He enjoyed classical music, old films and sharing stories of his life with his children. Dennis instilled many loving memories and lessons into us all that will be cherished for years to come and he will be deeply missed and loved every day.
The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to the Cambridge of Warren staff, who had helped care for Dennis and made him feel welcomed, happy and at home with their hard work, dedication and caring hearts. A special thank you also goes to Hospice of Warren County, who was of great support and assistance to not only Dennis, but also to his family during this difficult time.
Per his wishes, no viewing will take place. Family and friends are urged to attend a get together on Wednesday, October 21, at 5 p.m., with service and celebration of life beginning at 6 p.m. at Praise Fellowship in Russell, PA, with Pastor Rick Rohlin officiating.
