IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Alan
Wiedmaier
March 31, 1951 – November 6, 2025
David Alan Wiedmaier defeated pancreatic cancer by leaving it behind and transitioning to an eternal, cancer-free life on November 6, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family.
Born on March 31, 1951, in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late George Wiedmaier and the recently departed Georgianne (Payne) Wiedmaier. On April 17, 1971, David married his high school sweetheart, Kathy (Davis) Wiedmaier, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren—a loving partnership that lasted more than 54 years.
Dave worked for many years as a truck driver for several local oil companies and later was a warehouse manager for Pellegrino Foods. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed hunting with his father and uncles, and he cherished time at hunting camp with The Slocums'. He also spent time coaching Babe Ruth League baseball.
His father co-founded Allegheny Mountain Area Cycle Riders, after his father's passing, Dave continued in the club and served as an officer. He and Kathy made many life long friends in this club. He loved being on the road on his Harley.
Dave volunteered with his wife for the Friends of the Library Theatre, where he worked concessions on movie nights—famous for making what he called "the best popcorn west of the Conewango." He and Kathy loved supporting community events and being surrounded by friends.
Dave was a man of many interests—he loved motorcycles and muscle cars, especially Corvettes, and owned an antique Chevy truck. He also enjoyed visiting historical and natural sites, learning their stories along the way. At home, he relished a good steak or meatloaf (always with mashed potatoes) and often joked about a "nice hunk of cake" on birthdays or holidays.
He lived a life filled with laughter and love. Some of his fondest memories were camping trips, "Lampoon" family vacations, game nights, spontaneous weekend getaways with Kathy, and quiet evenings on the back porch watching the birds. Always a jokester, Dave liked to say he was "a man of many hats"—and he meant it literally, never leaving the house without one.
Above all, Dave loved his family. They meant everything to him, and he found immense joy in time spent with his grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Brionna, and took great pride in watching her perform on stage or just being silly and having fun at home. In his later years, his faithful little rescue dog, Wally, brought him endless comfort and companionship.
Dave was a member of Pleasant Community Church, where he had served on the Trustee Board and enjoyed working on projects around the grounds. Earlier in life, he was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving on the church council.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, Dave is survived by his daughter, Carie (Todd) Ristau; his son, Casey Wiedmaier; and three grandchildren: Brionna (Noah) Colvin, Aaliyah Wiedmaier, and Weston Wiedmaier. He is also survived by two sisters, Linda Scott and Marylou Wiedmaier, and a brother, George Wiedmaier, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penna. Ave E, Warren, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, November 22, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00pm , with Rev. James Swanson officiating.
