David Charles Johnson, 77, of Russell, PA, passed away August 1, 2024, at Kinzua Health Care and Rehabilitation in Warren.

Dave was born October 4, 1946, in Warren, PA, to the late Glenn Johnson and Blanche Gage Jonhson.  He was employed by Larimer-Norton Bat Factory Akeley PA as a forklift operator for many years from which he retired. Dave attended the Scandia Covenant Church. He enjoyed woodworking hauling firewood and sawdust, and he helped his son, David in his excavation business.

Dave is survived by his wife Marsha VanVliet, whom he married in 1976; two sons, David C. Johnson of Russell, PA, and Nicholas W. Johnson, and wife Carla, of Warren, PA; two brothers, Milton Johnson and wife Karen, of Russell, PA, and Terry Johnson of Russell, PA; and one sister, Shirley Holt and husband Ted, of Russell, PA; two grandchildren, Seth Johnson and Leah of New Castle, PA, and Amanda Johnson and husband Bryan, of Oil City, PA; a great granddaughter, Emery Johnson, of New Castle, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis and Allen Johnson.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, One Main Ave. Warren, PA, 16365.

A celebration of David's life will be held and announced at a later date.
