David F. Downey, 76, of Warren, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie.  David was born August 25, 1940, in Bradford, PA. He is the son of the late Chester and Kathleen Walker.

David had been employed with PennDot in various capacities for many years.  David was a devoted member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was always present as a volunteer for the Fish Fry.  David served as an officer and board member of the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club and was a member of the Clarendon Fire Department, where he received recognition for serving with them for over 50 years.  He was also a very active member of the Warren Senior Center.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing at the Walker Lodge.

He is survived by two sons—David F. Downey, and fiancé, Amber Rietz, of Clarendon, and Earl W. Downey, and wife, June, of Anchorage, AK; five sisters—Joan Baker, and husband, Tim, of Holly Springs, NC, Patti Hecei, and husband, Rick, of Warren, Meg Sabat, and husband, John, of Stoneham, Marcia Madigan, and husband, Mike, also of Stoneham, and Barb White, of Bradford; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on May 12, 2006, by his wife, Patricia A. (Johnson) Downey; and his brother, Tim Walker.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, July 2, from 5 to 7 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Sheffield, PA, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 3, with Fr. James Gutting, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.
