Daniel "Sonny" Johnson, 79, of Russell, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020, at his residence. Daniel was born October 1, 1941, in Russell, PA., to the late Elmer and Edith "Pud" Gebhart Johnson. Sonny was a 1960 graduate of Eisenhower High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1969. He was employed as a machinist at many local shops. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, and woodworking. He was an excellent handyman. Sonny especially enjoyed his family. He is survived by his daughter, Lauri Johnson of Russell, Pa., two sons, Andy (Carol) Johnson, and Craig Johnson, both of Warren, PA, his brother, David (Kristine) Johnson of Warren, Pa. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Marylin Emehizer Johnson, his second wife, Barbara Dickson Johnson and his sister Dianne Harroun.. A private service will be held at the Hale Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Condron, officiating. The family suggest memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
