Dan W. Michael, Sr., 80, of Russell, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the Warren Manor.  Dan was born May 7, 1935, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Charles and Sylvia Larimer Michael.

Dan was a longtime resident of the Warren area, and worked as a mailman, school bus driver, and also did factory work before retiring.  Besides spending time with family and friends, Dan enjoyed restoring old cars, doing hand crafted woodwork and being outdoors.  He also had a passion for going to the races.

Dan is survived by many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he cherished deeply.  He is also survived by four sisters, Shirley Kennedy, Ethel Scott, Janice Becker and Gloria Knopf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Michael; son, Larry Michael; three brothers, Norman, Darrell, and Lewis Michael; and one sister, Patricia Cocoa.

Friends will be received at the Russell United Methodist Church, 17 N. Main Street, Russell, on Monday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. David Heckman, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice.
