Obituary

Dammond Franklyn Taylor Park passed away peacefully on August 1, 2020. Born on November 24, 1982 on Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, Dammond lived a beautiful 37 years. He is remembered as an incredibly intelligent, creative, passionate and vibrant soul that blessed everyone around him. He graduated from Warren Area High School in 2001, and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2007 with a degree in Forestry Engineering. He worked as a civil engineer in Connecticut and for the DEP in Harrisburg, PA. He worked for BEI for the last two years after a traumatic brain injury. Their art program was a major highlight for him and helped his personality bloom post-injury. However, his true calling in life was as a glassblower and artist for over 15 years. He recently found his love for the flame again after a four year hiatus due to his injury. He had a fervid love for nature, especially trees and orchids. He loved to hike Tanbark Trail in Hearts Content with his cherished family, friends and dog, Harley. His adventurous soul was always planning his next trip to explore the world, visit friends and attend music festivals, which he loved dearly. Dammond taught us that little things matter in this life, but to also see the forest for the trees. He endured many obstacles in his 37 years and always came out smiling. We wish him peace and he will always be in our hearts. He is as generous in death as he was in life, and his organs will be donated to people in need. He was preceded in death by his little brother Nathan Alexander Park, maternal grandfather Raymond J. Taylor, and aunts Jennifer Taylor Aponté and Kathleen Taylor. He is survived by his loving parents Julie Taylor Park and Kent Wilcox, maternal grandparents Gloria Taylor Lichte and Klaus Lichte, brother 1LT(P) Jacob Park and his wife Angela Park, and his adoring companion Hannah Curtis. He was surrounded all his life by his incredible aunts and uncles, and grew up closely with his cousins. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Harley, who was training to become his service dog. His family would be honored to have any donations made to New Hope Assistance Dogs of Warren in his name. An intimate family gathering will be held in place of a funeral service due to current COVID-19 restrictions. His family appreciates the thoughts and prayers they have received.
