Claudia H. Gilson Pontious, 70, of Warren, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2021, at her residence.

Claudia was born on October 29, 1951, in Warren, the daughter of the late Richard Sr. and Margaret Bathurst Gilson. Claudia worked for the Commonwealth of PA Board of Assistance for 30 years, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed antiquing, estate sales and rescuing animals. She was a member of the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church. Claudia enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren.

Claudia is survived by her husband Rodrick S. Pontious, whom she married on May 26, 1975; two children, Adam Pontious and Whitney Pontious, both of Tulsa, OK; three siblings, Eileen Williams of Erie, Pa., Richard Gilson Jr. of Lackawanna, NY, and Anne Gilson (Judy Davis) of Brevard, NC; three grandchildren, Jamie Gilson, Dylan, and Bryan Wells; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd, Jamestown, NY 14701.
