Clara Jean Vilardo Nelson, 92, formerly of North Warren, and more recently at the Suites at Rouse died Monday, January 9, 2017.  Clara was born May 1, 1924 in Jamestown, NY. She is the daughter of the late Basilio and Jenny (Sevola) Vilardo.

Clara was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School.  For 18 years, Clara worked at Levinson Brothers, and at the Blair Corporation for 7 years.  Her family were members of the North Warren Presbyterian Church.  Clara always kept up with fashion and was an avid reader.  She had a strong and determined character, and was happy to share her opinions.  She also enjoyed her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Nelson, and wife Mary, of Franklin, and Steven Nelson, and wife Gladys, of Warren; one daughter, Beth Porter, and husband, Greg, of Russell; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death on December 19, 2010, by her husband, Elton C. Nelson, whom she married October 11, 1947; two sons, Jeffrey Nelson and Larry Nelson; and one sister, Anne Smith.

Services will be private, and at the convenience of the family.
