Clara Louise Gern, age 90, of Pleasant Township passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Warren Manor.  Clara was born October 24, 1924, in Oil City, PA. She is the daughter of the late Newel and Lottie Smith.

Clara was a graduate of Oil City High School.  She had been employed by National Transit in Oil City and later with the United Refinery in Warren.  She was a member of the Pleasant Community Church where she had been very active in the Wednesday Night Bible Studies.

She is survived by her husband, George Joseph Gern, of Warren, whom she married in 1966; one daughter, Nancy Gern, also of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ewing.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, 16365, on Thursday, April 2, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Michael Poindexter, pastor, Pleasant Community Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Dr., Warren, PA 16365 or a charity of choice.
